Children's Mental Health Week
Last week, the whole school took part in Children's Mental Health Week. The week began with Mrs Cahalan leading the assembly with the message 'Know Yourself, Grow Yourself.' The teachers taught lessons on how to develop a growth mindset - understanding that we can develop skills and talents through effort, learning from mistakes and being persistent.
There was time for mindful thinking each day - a calm pause from the busy moments in school to concentrate on our breathing. Life is so busy in school and at home, so this week helped us all to take a moment to talk, draw, listen and relax. Our class buddies came together to work on activities such as mindful colouring, listening to music and playing games. We even had Well-Being Wednesday for the staff - some yummy treats and gifts for us to choose.
The teachers will be continuing with some of the techniques and ideas used from the week. A big thank you to Mrs Cahalan and Miss Jones for organising a very important week.
