Church Services & Visits

Children in Y2-Y6 attend services at St. Andrew's Church. Each year our children and families join together to celebrate:

  • Harvest Service led by Year 3
  • Carol Service led by Year 4
  • Easter Service led by Year 5
  • Leavers Service led by Year 6

Children in YR-Y6 make regular visits to St. Andrew's Church as part of the RE curriculum. Visits are linked to relevant topics e.g. Year 2 visit to view the baptismal font, as part of their unit of work on baptism.

Children may also visit St. Andrew's Church for other events e.g. School Council collect rubbish in the churchyard.

Father Steve (Vicar)

Father Steve visits each class as part of their RE curriculum. The children enjoy discussing key questions with Father Steve.

Our children enjoy leading our school services at St. Andrew's Church and Father Steve shares a message and leads the Blessing.

Our Year 6 pupils particularly enjoy receiving a Bible from Father Steve at their Leavers' Service.

Kate Ladd (Family Support Worker)

Kate works at St. Andrew's Church as a Children and Families Worker. If you would value a conversation about family and parenting - or just want to meet up and chat about life in general - please contact Kate on 0752 6334828.

Kate leads Collective Worship at school and enjoys getting to know all of our pupils.

TFG (Time for God)

The St. Andrew's Church Family Service is called TFG (Time for God).

This happens in the church building on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month (during term time) at 4:00 p.m. and lasts about 50 minutes. About 30-40 families attend this service.

The style of the service is very much in the vein of Messy Church.

TFG is designed to be a relaxed and informal service for families, particularly with toddlers and primary school aged children. It is based around various creative arts activities, songs and other child-friendly activities.

There is lots of movement (the children do not sit down for the whole service, but work round the various ‘activity stations’ around the church), so hopefully no-one gets bored!

After the service is finished, there is some food for the children and adults to enjoy together.

It is a brilliant introduction to church for anyone who is not used to a more formal style of service. Please do join us.
